La tercera edición del Súper torneo Regilor 2009 se celebró en la ciudad de Bazna (Rumanía), del 13 al 25 de junio. Participaron los grandes maestros: Boris Gelfand, Vassily Ivanchuk, Alexei Shirov, Teimour Radjabov, Gata Kamsky y Liviu D. Nisipeanu.

Super torneo de Dortmund 2009

Del 2 al 12 de julio se ha celebrado la 37ª edición del Sparkassen Chess-Meeting - más conocido como Festival de Dortmund. En el súper torneo magistral categoría XX FIDE, con la participación de Carlsen, Kramnik, Jakovenko, Leko y Naiditsch se ha impuesto de forma excelente Vladimir Kramnik, mostrando un juego incisivo y eficaz.

Biel 2008

Del 20 al 31 de julio tiene lugar la 41ª edición del Biel Chess Festival Biel, Suiza). Entre los diferentes torneos destaca el de Grandes Maestros, que contará con la participación de: Magnus Carlsen, Leinier Dominguez, Evgeny Alekseev, Etienne Bacrot, Alexander Onischuk y Yannick Pelletier.

ICC retransmitirá diariamente las partidas de cada jornada y contará con vídeo resúmenes de "LA MEJOR PARTIDA DEL DÍA", a cargo del MI Michael Rahal.

Del 28 de junio al 6 de julio, ha tenido lugar en Dortmund (Alemania), el tradicional supertorneo Sparkassen Chess Meeting 2008, con la participación de 8 Grandes maestros: Vladimir Kramnik, Shakhriyar Mamedjarov, Peter Leko, Vassily Ivanchuk, Loek van Wely, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Arkadij Naiditsch y Jan Gustafsson. La categoría del torneo es XVIII (media ELO=2695).

El GM húngaro Peter Leko, resultó claro vencedor del torneo alemán.

Aerosvit 2008

Del 8 al 19 de junio se ha celebrado en la ciudad de Foros (Ucrania) la tercera edición de este supertorneo, que ha contado con la participación de los GMs: Carlsen, Svidler, Ivanchuk, Shirov, Karjakin, Jakovenko, Alekseev, Eljanov, Volokitin, Nisipeanu, Van Wely y Onischuk.

El GM noruego de 17 años, Magnus Carlsen dominó desde el principio la prueba, proclamándose vencedor con 8/11 puntos, varias rondas antes de que el torneo finalizara.

Match Illescas vs. Deep Junior 11

El jueves 5 de Junio, en Cosmocaixa Barcelona, el Gran Maestro Internacional de Ajedrez y actual Campeón de España, Miguel Illescas, se enfrentaró en modalidad de ajedrez rápido al programa de software Deep Junior, cinco veces Campeón del Mundo en la modalidad de ordenadores.

Se disputaron 2 partidas de ritmo 20/10 (20 minutos + 10 segundos de incremento por jugada) sin desempates. las partidas fueron también retransmitidas en ICC, con comentarios para Chess.FM del GM Amador Rodríguez y del MI Angel Martín. El MI Michael Rahal comentó en inglés para la audiencia internacional de ICC Chess.FM.

XXI Magistral "Ciudad de León" 2008

Del 30 de mayo al 1 de junio se ha celebrado la vigésimo primera edición del Magistral "Ciudad de León" 2008, en la ciudad de León (España).

En la primera semifinal, Vishy Anand (India) se impuso con dificultades a Francisco Vallejo por 3,5-2,5 , mientras que en la segunda, Vassily Ivanchuk (Ucrania) ganaba fácilente a Alexey Shirov por 3-1. En la final, Ivanchuk venció a Anand por 2,5-1,5, tras un grave error cometido por el Campeón Mundial en la última y decisiva partida.

El torneo fue comentado por el GM Miguel Illescas y el MI Michael Rahal.

Del 8 al 18 de mayo se ha celebrado en Sofía (Bulgaria) la tercera edición del súper torneo perteneciente al Gran Slam, "M-Tel Master", que en esta ocasión contó con la participación de los Grandes Maestros: Topalov y Cheparinov de Bulgaria, Radjabov (Azerbaijan), Aronian (Armenia), Ivanchuk (Ucrania) y Xiangzhi Bu (China).

La XXV edición el súper-torneo de Morelia-Linares ha tenido lugar en Morelia (México), del 15 al 23 de febrero y después en Linares (España), del 28 de febrero al 7 de marzo. Corus 2008 en Español

El Festival de Corus 2008 tuvo lugar del 12 al 27 de enero en la localidad holandesa de Wijk aan Zee. El torneo fue ganado ex-aqueo, por los Grandes Maestros Aronian y Carlsen. Chess.FM español ofreció comentarios diarios de cada ronda, con la intervención de importantes maestros latinos. Cada jornada se grabó "La mejor partida del día".
